Yeah Exhausted because Grim (my partner in crime) and I got a little too ambitious with Anthologies plus the webcomic. As for your question, from the beginning it's been pretty much decided that :EF belongs to both of us. Our duties are clearly divided with her in the writing and me in drawing. I do take on most of the hours since I have to draw it, especially at my desk (while Grim can write pretty much anywhere.) but that's already a given for the Artist in charge. Drawing takes more time (Thumbnails, Drafts, Lineart then color or tone, plus all the prep/promo material like Character concepts and banners and posters and such) and all the stages take an equal amount of effort, which is a lot (those who say tumbnailing or drafting is easy are stupid x_x), but the writer provides support too . All the time we usually spend on research is cut by half and updates and networking are done by them (At least that’s our arrangement) If you have an experienced writer (for a script) for a partner then that’ll be better. It’ll actually double your workload if your writer isn’t well versed in comics, especially in paneling. So be sure that your partner has a good knowledge with how comics work or is at least gung-ho about learning it.

Ultimately, the sole weight of the comic WILL lie in your art. Good writing doesn’t translate well in comics if the art is bad, oddly enough, the art can sometimes hide the bad writing hahaha Art is eventually the one thing that will hook your reader first, THEN the writing.

Getting pages in color is a little different though. Not everything looks good in color, it just happens to translate :EF better since I see it mostly as a cartoon than a comic in my head. All my other comics (For anthologies) are mostly black & white or have a mute palette. It’s entirely up to you to decide whether your comic should be in color or not. ^^

In any case, the jobs are hard on both parties but having a writer will definitely help lighten the workload. Plus, they prove to be an excellent driving force! I have had dozens and dozens of false starts and I never really minded since I wasn’t letting anyone down and I only had to think for myself. Having a creative partner helps with motivation! It wouldn’t just be your ass on the line but your partner too! It works both ways since the artist is the one converting the script to pictures ^^

Ah, I eventually hope to have another artist work on :EF with me so it’ll be faster and better quality wise. But ya know, it’s too early in the stage to think about that haha AH BUT REMEMBER I’m still an amateur so this is all ah… raw info
